Finding your therapist should be the easy part of your journey. Taproot Therapy Collective is centrally located in Hoover, Alabama, just off Highway 31 on Shady Crest Drive.

We are situated in a quiet, professional setting that offers privacy while remaining easily accessible from I-65, I-459, and Highway 280. Whether you are driving from downtown Birmingham, Homewood, Pelham, or Chelsea, our clinic is simple to find with ample free parking available immediately in front of the building.

Driving Directions

Our Landmark: We are located on the hill immediately behind/beside the Full Moon BBQ on Highway 31.

From the South (Pelham, Helena, Alabaster)

  • The Route: Take I-65 North toward Birmingham.

  • The Exit: Merge onto I-459 South (Exit 250) toward Tuscaloosa, then take Exit 13B to merge onto US-31 North toward Hoover.

  • The Final Turn: Continue on US-31 North, passing the Riverchase Galleria and Costco on your left. Turn Right onto Shady Crest Drive (immediately past the Full Moon BBQ).

From the North (Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Birmingham City Center)

  • The Route: Take I-65 South toward Hoover.

  • The Exit: Take Exit 252 to merge onto US-31 South.

  • The Final Turn: Continue on US-31 South, passing Vestavia Hills High School. Once you pass the Starbucks on your right, prepare to turn. Turn Left onto Shady Crest Drive (just before the Full Moon BBQ).

From the East (Mountain Brook, Highway 280, Chelsea)

  • The Route: Follow Highway 280 West toward Birmingham and merge onto I-459 South via the ramp to Tuscaloosa.

  • The Exit: Take Exit 13B to merge onto US-31 North.

  • The Final Turn: Continue on US-31 North. You will pass the Walmart Supercenter and Academy Sports. Turn Right onto Shady Crest Drive (just past the Full Moon BBQ).

From the West (McCalla, Bessemer, Lake View)

  • The Route: Get on I-459 North (accessible via AL-150 East or Morgan Rd).

  • The Exit: Take Exit 13 for US-31. Turn Left onto US-31 North.

  • The Final Turn: Continue on US-31 North, passing the AMC Patton Creek theater and Best Buy. Turn Right onto Shady Crest Drive (just past the Full Moon BBQ).

Arrival & Parking

We know that parking in Birmingham can be stressful, but not here.

  • Parking: We have a dedicated lot with plenty of open spaces right in front of the building. You do not need a code or validation.

  • Entrance: Enter through the main front doors. Our suite is clearly marked in the lobby directory.

  • Accessibility: Our building is handicap accessible.

A Note for Teletherapy Clients

If you are scheduled for a virtual session, you do not need to drive to the clinic. Please check your email for your secure, HIPAA-compliant video link 10 minutes prior to your appointment time.
