Everyone at Taproot works somatically and experientially. Nobody here will spend a year asking how that makes you feel; we go into the nervous system, the body and the story underneath it. What differs is what each therapist has lived, studied and trained in. Every clinician below sees clients at our Hoover office off I-65 at the Riverchase exit and by secure video anywhere in Alabama.

How we match you with a therapist

  1. 1
    Free 15-minute intake call

You tell our intake coordinator what's going on, whether you want the office or video, and whether you're using Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.

  2. 2
    The match

The coordinator pairs you with the clinician whose specialty and training fit, not the next open slot.

  3. 3
    First session

History, what you want, and a somatic map of where it lives in your body, so the plan starts from data.

  4. 4
    Treatment

EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic therapy, parts work or neurofeedback, reviewed every few sessions.

Cost, insurance and teletherapy

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama for most clinicians. Private-pay and out-of-network sessions are $250, with an income-based sliding scale, and we send a monthly superbill with the codes your insurer needs for out-of-network reimbursement. Secure video sessions are available anywhere in Alabama on the same sliding scale.

Not sure who to see?

That's what the free 15-minute intake call is for. Tell our coordinator what's going on and whether you want the office or video, and they'll match you with the right clinician. Our office is in Hoover off I-65 at the Riverchase exit, with free parking at the door.
