    Start Finding Yourself

Often times symptoms bring us into therapy. Dissociation, anxiety, depression, anger, or relationship problems can make you start looking for a therapist of some disorder. Taproot Therapy Collective can help you heal all of these symptoms and more. Often the real gift of therapy doesn’t come from the things that we get rid of, but the things that we gain. Most of us live our life in a mental fog that we can’t see out of. We go through our routine just surviving while not being alive. Therapy can often help us clear this fog. Therapy can allow you to start to feel yourself and your life in a healthy way. Often therapy can help you remember what it was like to be excited about life and energized for the future. Taproot Therapy Collective can help you learn to listen to the real authentic you, and help you discover your unlived life. Often our clients are able to reconnect with their families and rebuild relationships scarred by grief, anxiety, and depression.

We don’t want to offer you a bandaid for recovery from mental health challenges. Taproot Therapy wants to get to the root your symptoms. We specializes in brain based medicine and depth psychology backed approaches to healing.

These techniques promote healing in the deep brain instead of covering up the symptoms of past trauma or abuse, or managing them with behavioral techniques.

    4.

    Community

We want you to find the right therapist in Birmingham even if it is not at Taproot. We are happy to recommend another community provider that fits your needs even if we don’t have a counselor on staff that’s right for you.

Feel free to contact us with a question about mental health even if you are not sure how therapy works. The best way to prevent mental health problems is to be part of an informed, aware and supportive community. You can reach out online, give us a call, or visit our Birmingham AL location to get started.

No one chooses to suffer from anxiety, panic, or depression. No one chooses to struggle with anger management, addiction, or relationship problems. Unfortunately, the solutions to these problems are not always clear.

    Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy

We can work hard to feel better through counseling and still be discouraged with no improvement in our health. It is easy to feel hopeless when those around you cannot understand how you feel. Your friends and family may even offer you advice that makes you feel more alone in life.

Taproot Therapy Collective is a group of trauma focused therapists trained in many therapy styles. We believe in personalizing treatment for each patient and each issue. We specialize in helping patients harness their uniqueness, personality and creative spark to overcome barriers for growth and healing.

What types of therapy do you offer at Taproot Therapy Collective?

At Taproot Therapy Collective, we offer a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy

    Somatic therapy

    Lifespan Integration

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

    Brainspotting therapy

    Trauma-focused therapy

    Anxiety therapy

    Depression treatment

    PTSD therapy

    Art therapy

    Couples therapy and marriage counseling

What is somatic therapy, and how can it help me?

Somatic therapy is a holistic approach that focuses on the connection between the mind and body. It can be particularly effective for treating trauma, anxiety, and stress-related issues. Our skilled somatic therapists use techniques to help you release tension, process emotions, and achieve overall well-being.

Do you offer EMDR therapy, and what conditions can it treat?

Yes, we have certified EMDR therapists at Taproot Therapy Collective. EMDR is an effective treatment for various conditions, including:

    PTSD and trauma

    Anxiety disorders

    Depression

    Phobias

    Chronic pain

What is brainspotting therapy, and how does it differ from EMDR?

Brainspotting is a relatively new therapeutic approach that, like EMDR, can help process trauma and negative emotions. It involves identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional and body pain, trauma, and dissociation. While similar to EMDR, brainspotting uses fixed eye positions rather than eye movements.
